The Birmingham Crisis Centre are deeply saddened by the passing of our Chairman Sandra Brew. A trustee since her visit to the centre as the Lady Mayoress in 2008, she later became our Chairman. Sandra devoted a lot of her time at the centre engaging with the women and children victims of DV. Sandra was instrumental in the successful development of a new Nursery facility of which she was very proud. We shall all miss her very much.

Tommy was lovingly donated to us by our long-time supporter Barry Boate, and has happily settled in to his new home with our existing goldfish.

The Lord Mayor of Birmingham visited yesterday.  She met with residents and two very special visitors from KPMG, generous supporters of our new nursery.

Our new nursery extension was formally handed over by the contractors today.  It's been a long journey and we've been supported by many organisations, individuals and trusts, including the Tudor Trust and Clothworkers Trust.  

We're very grateful to everyone who supported us and, on behalf of the children who will use the facility, thank you all.

 

 

 

Visit from Rt Hon Andrew Mitchell MP

We were pleased to welcome the Rt Hon Andrew Mitchell MP to the Centre today who wanted to learn more about domestic violence and us.  There were some intensely moving moments when our residents told how their stories but each agreed to speak to Mr Mitchell in the hope of helping others.  We are very grateful to them all.
